Honza is 27 years old. He has graduated from university and is currently further studying for an MBA degree. He has been playing ice hockey since he was little and having finished his playing career, he still wanted to play a part in the field of sports. As a co-founder of the Czech Jets, he has already mastered tournament organisation on three continents. Thanks to experience from past engagements, he is well-versed in both written and spoken English. His hobbies include sport in general. Apart from ice hockey, he also enjoys playing tennis.

Bc. Jan Šafář was born on 30 April 1991 in Pardubice. Up until his U20 years, he played for Dynamo Pardubice. After graduating from a grammar school in Pardubice, he studied at the Faculty of Education of the University of Hradec Králové. During his studies, he took part in an internship at the Chinese ice hockey academy, where he gradually coached Chinese teams in Shanghai, Beijing and Wuhan. He has been working for the Czech Jets since 2018. Together with us, he has taken part in events in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Wuhan, Kunming, Florida and Abu Dhabi. Last year, he worked as a teacher at a middle school in České Meziříčí. Honza holds a “B” licence in ice hockey coaching, as well as a fitness trainer and swimming coach licence from his studies at the University of Hradec Králové and life-long learning courses at Charles University in Prague. He speaks English and Russian. His hobbies include travelling, sport – especially tennis – and now also raising his newborn daughter, Viktorie.

Since I was 6 years old, I have always liked ice hockey. I have dedicated everything to this sport and will never get bored with it. As I got older, I felt ever more drawn to educating young players and helping them get closer to their dream – playing in the NHL. I graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport and obtained a “B” licence in ice hockey coaching to improve my coaching skills. The many hours spent with experienced coaches on and off the ice have had a great impact on me, and therefore I also want to provide my young players with only the best and the most effective advice both on and off the ice. Thanks to the opportunity to travel abroad and to gain international ice hockey experience, we have taken work to another level where we can pass our experience onto the players directly in the cradle of ice hockey – across the sea. There is no better motivation for the players than to develop their hobby at the right place and to encounter the hardest obstacles and the right people to help them develop in a rapid way. With the Czech Jets project, we will always be doing the most for our young ice hockey players.
